Announced at VMware Partner Exchange 2008, the VMware VCDX certification is the mecca of certifications for VMware architects around the world.

I passed the VCDX Enterprise Exam about a year ago, and took the VCDX Design Exam in spring of this 2009.

I just found out that I have indeed passed the VCDX Design Exam!

I will remind readers of this site that I am not allowed to divulge any of the test material (I got countless requests on the Enterprise exam).

The one technique I followed was to read the blueprint and then essentially compile a book using the blueprint as the ToC. It was very time consuming, involved reading many VMware-published guides, community blogs, VMTN posts, et cetera, but it was the most comprehensive way to ensure I was as armed as humanly possible.

This exam was quite difficult compared to the Enterprise and my guess is that there will be a healthy rate of attrition.

There is an option to defend one of my designs pre and post VMWorld, but unfortunately I am booked with conferences/speaking engagements until mid-September so it will have to be later this year.

Kudos to my fellow VCDX design passers that found out today (one who just happens to be a fellow vExpert and all around VMware rockstar).
