vCharterPro Plugin for Virtual Center (Webpage Integration into Virtual Center)
So after a restless night over the last weeked I decided to put my new found hours to some good use.
I’ve been wanting to write a plugin to incorporate web-based management consoles (e.g. vCharterPro) for quite some time. One small hurdle I have at clients is that they don’t want to keep multiple windows open to manage and monitor their virtual infrastructure.
Therefore, I wrote a plugin to integrate such consoles into Virtual Center; preserving the single pane of glass concept. After reading through the VMware Getting Started with VC Plug-ins guide I decided it couldn’t be too difficult to add a tab and have that tab tie back into my web page for vCharter Pro (a fantastic product by the way).
After familiarizing myself with how to write the plugin then writing a tool to register the plugin I finally reached success.
After some discussion, any company that purchases their Vizioncore products through IGI will receive this plugin for free. Please note that no plugins are supported completely by VMware and that they are still marked experimental.
Installation of the plugin takes < 15 minutes.
