Current Solutions
The following endeavors are currently underway::
HTTP/s Virtual Center Plugin Generator
Add any webpage (e.g. vFoglight, Fortisphere, intranet, wiki, etc.) to your Virtual Center console.
Application streaming through a virtualized cloud.
By utilizing existing VMware features, third-party tools and internally developed applications, our consultants are able to manage a large "cloud" of resources effectively and efficiently. As new client applications come online or demand increases, the virtualized cloud is leveraged to provide services with no downtime. As demand reaches high-water marks in other data centers, less important applications are moved to lower-tier datacenters to optimize maximum global productivity.
Life Cycle Manager integration.
By pairing the feature set in VMware Lifecycle Manager (LCM) with a popular ticket-tracking system (Remedy), an existing sets of processes can be used to manage a virtual infrastructure.
Virtualization initiative for data center power reduction.
A large data center has reached a high water mark in regards to its available kilo wattage. As such, the company has decided to undergo a virtualization initiative to drastically reduce watts consumed.
VMWare VI3 Environment Hardware Migration.
The migration off of aging and over-taxed infrastructure onto a more robust platform. Migration will involve the use of a new VI3.5 feature, Storage VMotion (a/k/a "dmotion").
Open Source Capacity Planner.
By utilizing the open source project discussed heavily on this site, a capacity planner has been developed. Currently in its infancy, the Capacity Planner is being further integrated with the VC SDK.
